Michael Peterson
PRODUCER -DIRECTOR
Michael Peterson is a documentary film director living in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. His love of the outdoors and passion for the preservation of the land, animals and those who live in it lends the imagery he captures to be timeless and relevant.
Prior to directing The Last 100 Miles Peterson directed Dammed to Extinction. This film reveals the plight of the Southern Resident Orcas found near Seattle WA in the Salish Sea.
Peterson spent 20 years working in film and television in Hollywood. His visual effects film credits include Independence Day, Armageddon, Contact and Star Trek First Contact. He has worked on dozens of music videos and national broadcast commercials.

Heidi Zimmerman

Heidi Zimmerman is a film editor with over 20 years experience producing documentaries, promotional pieces, and narrative films. She tells stories that stoke empathy and inspire change. Heidi cut her first documentary, 40 Years of Silence, under the tutelage of Academy Award-winning film editor, Pietro Scalia.

Paul Chasman
COMPOSER AND MUSIC SUPERVISOR
In 1980, Guitar Player magazine described Paul Chasman’s music as “a fine example of a guitarist’s devotion to the full exploration of his instrument’s capabilities.” Since then, Paul has recorded over 20 albums of his compositions and guitar interpretations in genres ranging from folk to jazz to classical and later as a singer-songwriter. He has developed groundbreaking techniques for playing guitar harmonics which Frets magazine called “astounding.” He was a founding member of the Acoustic Guitar Summit with whom he played for its first nine years. The Last 100 Miles is Paul’s second film score, the first being a Port Townsend production called The Last of Us.

Steven Hawley

Steven Hawley is the writer of Cracked: The Future of Dams in a Hot Chaotic World, published by Patagonia Books in 2023. He is the writer and co-producer of the award-winning documentary film, Dammed to Extinction. Hawley is a correspondent at The Drake Magazine and his work has appeared in Outside Magazine, High Country News, Fly Fisherman, Patagonia, Outlaw Magazine, and Backcountry Journal.
